French Joan of Arc medal pendant featuring a regal profile of the beloved saint in her battle of Orleans armour gazing with fierce determination into the horizon. The sculptural border is set with a wonderful organic shaped laurel wreath and ribbon. The medal floats from a vintage silver chain which has a fabulous patina yet still retains it´s original radiant glow.

The medal is marked on the loop with the French boar's head (tete de sanglier). The tete de sanglier is the mark of the Paris Assay Office, indicating a silver fineness of 800 or higher. The chain appears to have the French double crab silver hallmark.

Authentic antique French medal circa early 1900s with original patina. Typical wear and use, as expected with antique jewelry.
