Antique Saint Aloysius de Gonzaga Medal
This stunning antique Spanish Saint Aloysius de Gonzaga medal is truly amazing. St Aloysius is shown as a young man at the alter wearing a cassock. He is surrounded with spiritual attributes including lilies, referring to innocence; a cross, referring to piety and sacrifice; a skull, referring to his early death; and a crown of the marquis, which Aloysius relinquished. Two cherubs float in the background which is a very rare addition to this type of medallion as St Gonzaga is usually shown at the altar without additional images in the background.
