Antique Saint Cecilia Catacombs medallion with a Latin inscription on the front (ut non confundar fiat cor meum immaculatum) which translates to "Let my heart be undefiled, that I be not ashamed". The reverse is full of spiritual symbolism including an ethereal Holy Spirit, wheat and an anchor. During ancient Christian times the anchor was often found in the epitaphs of the catacombs and is known to represent salvation, hope and safety. Wheat represents charity and love. The harvesting of wheat is a sign of advanced love and charity, and the field the wheat grows in is representative of the church.The Catacombs of Callixtus are the largest of the catacombs in Rome and believed to have been created by Pope Callixtus I (patron Saint of cemetery workers).Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music was buried in the Catacomb of Callixtus.
